Garage Door Safety Features
If your garage was built before 1993, it might not have the safety features that come standard with all modernized garages. Garage doors should be equipped with all up to date safety technologies. We offer installation and calibration of photo eye entrapment systems. This system consists of two sensors on either side of the garage door, if anything disrupts the sensor beams while the door is closing the system will stop instantly and begin opening back to the fully opened position. This feature prevents the garage door from closing on anything, protecting small children, animals or any items in the entrance.
Testing the tension of your door springs is another safety feature that our technicians will inspect when inspecting your garage door. Your door can become unbalanced if it is not maintained properly. When this happens the garage door may hang sideways and uneven, it may not stay up and fall down. Anything other than smooth movement up and down means your garage door is out of balance and you might need a broken spring repaired.
At Legacy Garage Doors our technicians can make all safety and security updates to your garage door system during an installation, replacement or repair. We would be happy to make your garage door exactly how you want it.
